With an earthy-meets-industrial style and a refreshingly homey approach to alfresco dining, it’s no surprise Peter Rabbit has been so warmly welcomed to the west end.
And we’ve got Jack Nelligan, James McIntyre and Daniel Morton to thank for rolling out this little patch of greenery, which we’re sure you agree serves as an unmatched escape from the hustle and bustle of the CBD.
The Hindley St hangout has only been kickin’ since late last year, but the guys are welcoming winter with open arms… and a few new menu offerings!
The changing of the seasons is the perfect excuse to mix things up a little bit, so we got the good oil on their brand spanking new winter menu, which is set to launch in early June.
“We can’t not have a soup,” says Jack, and that’s the first thing you can expect to see on their winter menu… c’mon, it’s the ultimate winter warmer. And the guys also have plans to introduce a Truffled mushroom ragù and Pulled pork tacos, so keep your eyes peeled.
“But the staples are going to stay the same,” says Nelligan, so you can rest assured your all-day breakfast favourites are here to stay. Same goes for the afternoony stuff!
Our picks are the Grilled haloumi salad with seasonal roasted veggies, and the Brioche burger with pulled lamb, slaw, labne, house sauce and some damn juicy pickles. Or you can ease into the cooler weather with somethin’ a little more exotic, like their Moroccan spiced chicken tagine with sweet potato, green olives, flaked almonds and coriander on a bed of cous cous.
And let’s not forget these guys are fully licensed, with a rotating selection of craft beers on tap, a more-or-less South Australian wine list, and a choice of cocktails guaranteed to get your Friday night off to a roaring start.
Or you can bask in the warmth of their wood fireplace, take in the smooth sounds of a carefully curated playlist, and enjoy a 1645 Coffee Roasters blend (courtesy of their bearded barista).
And last but not least, don’t forget to get acquainted with their resident rabbits, Flopsy and Mopsy!
