Why you should add a gel moisturiser to your routine this winter

In the winter, it’s natural for the skin on our faces, hands and legs to feel drier than usual with the colder weather that works against naturally moisturising properties. It means that we need to take extra care with the products we are using to ensure that they are restoring moisture to our bodies but are also suitable to skin type we have. Enter the gel moisturiser.

Contrary to the name, a gel moisturiser isn’t sticky or lacklustre in the moisture department. If anything, it’s the perfect solution to our winter blues with its consistency being less dense than a typical cream moisturiser yet still maintaining properties to douse the skin in a hydration boost that might be desperately needed. It’s also a lifesaver for so many of us out there who have combination skin and don’t want to end up looking slick and oily by wearing moisturiser under makeup.

And don’t think that they’re any less hydrating than their creamy counterparts, gel moisturisers act in a way that doesn’t overwhelm pores due to their contents being water-based, allowing them to absorb into the skin almost instantly and leave you with a natural glow and boosted moisture to the skin. Most importantly, gel moisturisers can be worn on all skin types so everyone can give them a go before winter is out!

We think it’s time you road tested one of our favourites and add this skincare secret to your beauty cabinets.
