What To Wear: Adelaide Festival of Racing

And just like that, racing season is back in South Australia with the 2017 UBET Adelaide Festival of Racing starting this Saturday at Morphettville. We know it can be hard to find something to wear for the colder weather to races so we thought we’d give you some inspiration with a moodboard for each of the race days. Giddy up!

Schweppes Oaks Day

Oaks Day is traditionally known as Ladies Day so don’t be afraid to show your feminine side. Florals, softer tones and a nude palette is always a great place to start. To put an autumn spin on it, try dresses with sleeves and more muted tones like a brick red instead of a pink, and save the blush pink for accessories instead of your usual nude heel.

UBET Derby Day

Derby Day is probably one of the easiest days to dress for – just put on your monochromatic best. Lace is a nice choice on race day and looks great in black or white, or even try a pant suit if you’re after something different. If you feel like the lack of colour makes for a boring outfit, jazz it up with accessories – statement earrings and some stand out millinery.

Darley Goodwood Day

The biggest day of live racing and a day for the guys so definitely choose to suit up. While we know most of you guys are comfortable in navy, opt for one with a windowpane check or one a wine colour pattern in it – it’s been huge this autumn/winter across many of the suit stores and makes the suit a bit more fashion rather than corporate. Choose some bold accessories in burgundy and chocolate brown to incorporate some warmth into the colour palette.
