What to do this summer in Adelaide

There’s only so much time we can spend at home before we’re itching to get out in the sun and enjoy the holidays. Whether you’re on school, university or work holidays, there’s no reason why you should be staying at home when there’s so much to see and do in South Australia during the festive season.

It’s no secret that Adelaide’s beaches are perfect. Bring a picnic blanket and a basket of snacks and you can spend the day in the sun. You can also visit Glenelg’s Mosley Beach Club until early March so find an umbrella and a group of friends and start a bar tab because you’ll be here for a while.

Glenelg is also hosting a beach festival called Beach Life on the 28th of December to celebrate the new year. The Kooks are performing and will be joined by Winston Surfshirt, Last dinosaurs, MANE and more, food by Beach Burrito and drinks by a mix of South Australian Brewers.

Jump on the tram or closest bus and head into the city centre. First you’ll need a coffee, I’m sure you’ve got your favourites but ours are Monday’s Coffee Store and Exchange Specialty Coffee. A trip to Rundle Mall is always necessary, visit the newly opened H&M, peruse the Myer Centre or head to Rundle Place for some up-scale shopping.

Walk to Leigh Street for their annual Christmas Markets, running from the 10th of November to the 22nd of December there’s no way you can miss it, or head east for the Ebenezer Place Night Markets on the 7th of December.

The popular Moonlight Cinema is returning to Botanic Park from the 8th of December so be sure to pick a flick and get comfy.
