The ethereal and ever-lovely Vera Blue has just released her new single ‘Mended’ and in addition, has announced that she’ll be going on a national album tour, including a stop in Adelaide.
Following the success of ‘Private’, which has over 2 million streams around the world, she’s released this new song which details the aftermath of an intense relationship. While incredibly personal, it’s a song that Blue has been waiting to share with her fans for a long time and like much of her music, it comes from the heart.
“It was about a relationship that I had a few years ago. It had been a little while since we’d ended it and we hadn’t made amends, said we were sorry. It’s funny because you think the song is going to be about resolution, but we haven’t quite made it there yet,” she says.
It’s mind blowing that a 23-year-old can write and sing with such heart and something about it obviously resonates really well with her audience (which now includes a dedicated following in the US after her recent trip there). It may explain why all her previous Australian headline tours have sold out and tickets to the ‘Mended’ tour are expected to go just as fast.
Vera Blue is at The Gov on Friday, August 4 2017 and tickets go on sale next Monday.
