Revitalising the previously sleepy Prospect Road, New Nordic has taken the Adelaide foodie scene by storm since opening its doors at the new Palace Nova complex in December 2017. Since then, they’ve been serving up delicious Scandinavian eats and treats and are now extending their ethos for ‘the best Nordic style cuisine south of Sweden’ to a fresh new brunch menu.
From signature Nordic flavours including dill, saffron, cardamom and aniseed to the classic poached egg, there’s something for every bruncher on the venue’s new menu. With a paramount focus on fresh and local cuisine with a unique modern twist, the breakfast offerings utilise as much South Australian produce as possible.
New Nordic head chef, Louise Matschke, says, “we have created our breakfast menu specifically to balance between the Nordic adaptations of standard Australian brunch dishes and traditional dishes that you would expect to see on the breakfast table in any Northern Swedish home”.
After a spot of brekky on the go? Stop by New Nordic’s coffee bar, complete with a mouth-watering selection of baked goods. From perfectly puffed pastries to freshly baked kanelbulle (Swedish cinnamon buns), it’s near impossible to order your morning latte without picking up one of the drool-worthy treats.
“All of the baked goods on the menu are made by our chefs, in traditional Nordic style,” says New Nordic co-owner, Mattis Vanzati.
For a brunch of the boozy variety, New Nordic’s head mixologist, Mathieu Seban, has carefully curated an exclusive range of breakfast cocktails. Designed with the unique Nordic brekky offerings, the drinks list sees the likes of moonshine-spiked Swedish-style coffee and saffron infused Nordic Mimosas.
New Nordic’s new breakfast menu is available from 7am daily.
