Trend Report: Fruit prints for Spring

Florals for spring? Groundbreaking. Fruits for winter? New, exciting and definitely what you need!

If you take a look through the glossy fashion magazines at your newsagent or a quick scroll through your Instagram feed, you’d definitely spot at least one image of a fruit printed dress, shirt or accessory. This season, fashion and fruit have had a revival and while spring is still two weeks away, now is definitely the time to add some colour to your wardrobe to see out winter in style and prep for the sun to come – hopefully sooner rather than later!

Historically, fashion and fruit printed items have a long and winding relationship. Prada released their now infamous banana printed garments in 2011, which then saw a revival in 2017, then Stella McCartney also released a citrus printed collection in the same year. More recently, Dolce & Gabbana have taken the trend to a completely elevated level with both their ready-to-wear and Haute Couture collections featuring fruit in abundance. If there was ever a time to dress like your holidaying in Positano while actually at Glenelg, take this as your official sign from above.

We think it’s more than appropriate for you to peruse the relationship between fashion and fruit and take some inspiration for your next purchase. Not sure where to start? Never fear, we are here to help with our favourite fruit-printed garments and accessories to get you started.
