The Urban Picnic delivers sustainable celebration of local food and wine

Making its first appearance on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23 at Stepney’s Linde Reserve, local eateries, wine and gin companies come together for two-day family-friendly event The Urban Picnic.

In a more timelier manner than ever, creator Sam Worrall-Thompson has worked with City of Norwood Payneham and St Peters Council to ensure the event is eco-friendly and plastic free.

“We have asked that our food vendors come to the party with biodegradable packaging and serve ware and there won’t be a plastic cup or straw in sight.”

Among the list of beverage and food vendors are Pawn Wine Co, Little Bang Brewery, Forage Supply Co, Adelaide Gin, Brascos Pizza and Hygge Studio while market stalls, kids’ activities and entertainment will also be heavily featured.

“This is an exciting opportunity to showcase well-known food and beverage businesses in South Australia as well as highlighting some hidden Eastern suburb gems,” Sam said.

As the event arrives at the particularly pointy end of the year, the weekend provides families and friends a relaxing reprieve before all picks up again during the festive season – you may have a chance to grab a gift or two for a loved one while you’re there too!
