Just last week Adelaide fashion designer Stacey Hendrickson of casper+pearl, announced that her ready-to-wear label will be re-branding into a fast fashion online shopping platform: THE SQUAD ONLINE.

casper+pearl will be pulled from all existing stockists, including Nasty Gal, Revolve, Urban Outfitters, Princess Polly, Peppermayo and The Iconic, to be sold exclusively on THE SQUAD ONLINE, which will be based here in Adelaide.

Stacey says she needed to make the change to stay relevant and keep up with her young market who want to buy clothing for under $100.

“If they want to wear a dress that costs as much as we were charging at casper+pearl, they’re going to rent it and wear it once,” Stacey says.
“The clothing rental industry is ruining fashion houses who charge upwards of $100 for items and I knew that I needed to make a change now before it was too late.”
By eliminating the wholesaling process, Stacey has been able to charge less than half of what casper+pearl was retailing for by selling straight to the consumers. THE SQUAD ONLINE will also be sourcing other fast fashion labels to stock online.

Stacey, who also owns AZALEA Models, says they’ll be using their girls for all the website’s shoots and as they’re all  really good friends she beliebes their campaigns are going to be genuine.

“The goal is to be likened to the Australian version of Nasty Gal, but with a cool point of difference because we would be the only online store that also owns a modelling agency.”
