Australian swimwear label, The Fold, have collaborated with London artist Alexandria Coe for a release of one-of-a-kind illustrations centring on the female form. The release is inspired by the women of The Fold, a D+ swimwear label that caters to women who have a fuller bust size.
The label’s founders, Carly Warson and Stephanie Korn, were drawn to the artist’s work in promoting body positivity through authentic and organic depictions of nude women in her work.
“Nudity polarises people. It taps into our deepest fears and desires, and the part of humanity restrained,” Alexandria says. “It’s a natural part of our being which has become laden with meaning both socially and emotionally.”
Carly and Stephanie launched the collaboration to bring awareness of the growing movement of body positivity and female empowerment, through celebrating all shapes and sizes. “[We] pay homage to the female form in an abstract and non-conventional approach, rather than idealising and sexualising the woman as an object.”
Alexandra Coe X The Fold illustrations are available exclusively from The Fold Swimwear online for $180 with a percentage of every sale going towards The National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Make sure you share your best breast moment on Instagram, tag a friend and hashtag #lovemyfolds to go in the draw to win a line drawing inspired by their form. The competition concludes at the end of June.
