Looks like the world’s largest lingerie event won’t be taking place in 2019. Whaaat?
According to Australian model Shanina Shaik, who spoke with The Daily Telegraph on Tuesday has said the highly anticipated Victoria’s Secret show “won’t be happening this year”.
The annual show has been around since 1995, with 28-year-old Shaik appearing five times as one of the Angels on the catwalk within the extravagant ‘fallen from the sky’ set.
The show has given us some magical moments, like Rihanna in a spectacular pink lace set, Ariana Grande dodging the eccentric wings of Elsa Hosk, and of course some of our new favourites like Kendall, Bella and Gigi.
Every year, we see snippets of the models training like Angels to walk down the catwalk confidently. As Victoria’s Secret is still yet to issue an official statement, we are sure this isn’t the end of an era and we are excited to see what the future holds!
Could this be the beginning to a long overdue change including plus-size models, transgender women and a step forward to body positivity? We look forward to finding out!
