Adelaide’s Paul Vasileff of couture label Paolo Sebastian has touched down in Paris and tomorrow will become the first South Australian designer to show their collection in Paris during Haute Couture Fashion Week.
Paolo Sebastian’s 2016-17 Fall/Winter Couture collection, entitled ‘Gilded Wings’, will be on display in a showroom at the La Maison Champs Elysees for media and buyers who will be in town during Fashion Week.
The South Australian Government and Adelaide Fashion Festival have supported Paul with this next step in career, which is giving him the chance to build his business and profile internationally.
The collection has been held tightly under wraps for the past few months, but now Paul reveals it features soft French tulle, delicate hand-embroidery and intricate beadwork, plus there are fabrics that have been created specifically for the collection.
“I want my designs to capture the imagination and allow people to dream,” Paul says.
“The height of fashion is haute couture and Paris is the home of couture.
“Paris is the epicentre of the fashion world. This really feels like an introduction into that world.”
We can’t wait to get our own glimpse of this collection at the upcoming 2016 Adelaide Fashion Festival – where Paolo Sebastian will be a key featured label.
