MTV VMAs 2016: Red Carpet

The 33rd annual MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), that’s taking place at New York’s Madison Square Garden, is currently underway.

It’s no surprise that Beyoncé is up for 11 nominations for her visual album Lemonade, with Adele following close behind with eight for her album 25.

Ri-Ri opened the show where it is apparent she was more interested in showing off her dance moves rather than singing her hits, but she still has two performances to go.

Kayne West has released his brand new music video for his The Life of Pablo track ‘Fade’ starring Teyana Taylor, her man Iman Shumpert and strangely lots of sheep.

And most importantly — the fashion on the red carpet. The dress code is much more free than other red carpet events, bringing in the more shocking or even questionable looks. We may be bias, but our favourite look is Tove Lo wearing Australian designer Dion Lee.

Here’s a mix of what we deem as some of the best looks from the VMAs.
