International fashion illustrator Megan Hess is combining her artistic abilities in conjunction with The Australian Ballet to create an exclusive collection of illustrations as part of Illustrate Create’s Twelve Create project.
Twelve designers, who have reinvented the traditional ballet pointe shoe to uniquely represent their brands, will have their designs drawn by Megan herself.
The twelve featured fashion designers include; Akira Isogawa, Cinquante, Fleur Wood, Ginger & Smart, Paolo Sebastian, ParlourX YSL, Rachel Gilbert, Sass & Bide, Steven Kahlil, TYLR, Viktoria Vovak and ballerina Brooke Lockett who is guest speaking at the launch event.
Megan has made a career out of her unique fashion illustrations and now calls Chanel, Dior and Givenchy (to name a few) some of her most frequent clients. She is also the name behind the design of New York Time’s bestselling book, Sex and the City and has illustrated animations for the likes of Vanity Fair, Prada and Bergdorf Goodman, NY.
The twelve prints will be available for purchase during an exclusive, exhibition style evening on October 12, held at One Rundle Trading Co in Dulwich, with proceeds going directly back to The Australian Ballet.
A handful of Hess’s smaller, limited edition prints will also be available for custom order on the night.
Tickets are limited, however, a number are available for purchase for $20 via www.friendsoftheaustralianballetsa.com.au.
