The cosmetics gurus at MAC Cosmetics, aka the makeup MVPs, have just released their latest innovation — and we’re pretty excited. Eyeshadow fallout will (hopefully) be a distant memory that we tell our grandkids about thanks to MAC’s latest release: magnetic eyeshadows.
These limited-edition ‘Spellbinder Shadows’ will be available in eight gorgeous, full-coverage shades that are magnetised and charged. What’s so great about magnetic eyeshadows, you ask? These innovative shadows are packed with “all the benefits — intensity, richness, the creaseless finish — of a loose powder in a much less messy way,” says MAC’s Vice President of Product Development, Nicole Masson. The magnetised shadows are charged to stick to the magnet in the pot (eg. no spills) and your eyelids, resulting in perfectly pigmented shadows every time. We’ve been spending our hard-earned cash on eyeshadow primers, setting sprays and waterproof ingredients to keep our eyeshadow in place when the answer was magnets!
If one new MAC release wasn’t already enough to have you reaching for your credit card, feast your eyes on their soon-to-be-released Metallic Face and Body Foundations. Two shimmering shades from the new foundation range were debuted by Dominic Skinner (MAC’s senior makeup artist), on Instagram on September 28. Dominic hinted that he’s been using these products in his kit for years, stating that the “iconic backstage favourite has the most expensive looking glow built in, with the same skin like coverage”. Supermodel skin anyone?
MAC Spellbinder Shadows are available in the US from today, October 13, but unfortunately they’re yet to announce an Australian release date. Meanwhile, the release date of MAC’s Metallic Face and Body Foundations worldwide is still unknown, so start saving your spare change because these bad boys are on their way to a MAC store near you.
