Introducing: Pub Grub Festival

Fathers day Adelaide ideas

Adelaide is a city built on foodies. It’s no secret that with the array of fantastic venues across the city, we really can’t go past a good pub feed. Thanks to an abundance of top notch South Australian produce, increasing demand from food fanatics and chefs that are pushing the limits, Adelaide is reinventing the classic pub menu. With great Adelaidian venues kicking their menus up a notch of late, modern pub cuisine is truly reaching new heights and we think that deserves a celebration. Enter the Pub Grub Festival, the newest foodie event to hit the Adelaide calendar. Pub Grub offers all of the best bits from your favourite Adelaide taverns right in the heart of the CBD.

This September, Pub Grub Festival will take over Victoria Square for its inaugural celebration of Adelaide’s leading taverns. Showcasing the innovative menus of local pubs and hotels as well as South Australia’s abundance of craft breweries and award winning wineries, the Pub Grub Festival is a food festivity unlike any other in the state. Leave your preconceived notions of oily schnitzels and garden salads at the door as this unique festival shines a light on the burgers, street food and BBQ of the modern pub cuisine.

“I wanted to create and event that could showcase the quality of pub grub and remind people why they need to be checking out what Adelaide’s pubs and hotels have to offer,” says Pub Grub Festival creator Josh O’Shaughnessy.

Sample a collision of your favourite local taverns while enjoying our city’s stunning spring weather in Victoria Square as the festival invites a range of Adelaide’s favourite pubs and hotels to descend on the central CBD location. The extensive line up boasts leading pubs and hotels, including Saracens Head Hotel, Oxford Hotel, Publishers, Gilbert Street Hotel, Lady Daly, Seven Stars and Prince Albert. Replicating delicious menu items and lip smacking drinks lists inspired by the taverns, Pub Grub Festival will see premium beer and wine from local South Australian producers, including Woodstock Wine, Vale Ale and many more.

“The atmosphere is the reason people will love the Pub Grub Festival … We’re really excited to create a fun and relaxed vibe that makes going to the pub with friends so enjoyable,” says Josh.

Why pick just one tavern when you can sample them all? Head down to Adelaide’s ultimate beer garden, the Pub Grub Festival, at Victoria Square this September for a unique foodie experience.
