The cooler weather has definitely hit us, and we’re finding ourselves scouring the back of our wardrobes to bring back out our coats, boots and knits. Need a new jacket to add to your repertoire and winter rotation? Let us introduce you to new Adelaide label founded by sisters Alex and Georgie Babyska – Toast Society.
Jumping off the back of the athleisure trend (cue: P.E Nation), the girls have launched their first collection of puffer jackets that they say are “inspired by the wild and rule-breaking street fashion of Tokyo, Japan”.
“We found ourselves constantly wearing active wear but needing something that we could throw over the top after the gym which added a bit of style, edge and colour,” Alex says.
“From there we drew inspiration and started curating a collection that the fashion-forward girl would love – fun colours, funky zips, big pockets, over-sized hoods and thumb-holes.”
“What a better way to add a bit of sass than with a pastel puffer jacket with oversized pockets and pom poms?!”
These definitely aren’t your standard ‘soccer mum’ puffers with cropped lengths, OTT oversized and slim-lined shapes in a variety of colours including powder pinks and blues, mint green, metallic and classic black.
The pieces double in being practical and fashion-forward, with the girls promising that Toast Society can take you from “sunrise to sunset, and even the snow”. The collection includes a selection of light-weight down jackets that can easily be rolled up into your bag while traveling or on the go.
“With some designs being made from high quality down you are now able to ski in style without breaking the bank.”
Toast Society have just launched their website toastsociety.com where you can snap up your own winter staple puffer jacket or you can catch the girls at their favourite Adelaide boutique, Wildchild Stylelab, during their in-store pop-up between May 31–June 7.
