A self-confessed glowing-skin addict and brow enthusiast, Adelaide based make-up artist Georgia Edgar has spent the last couple of years perfecting and beautifying the faces of many. And with a client reel that reads a plethora of blushing brides, numerous publications, and local labels like Autark, Caléche and Holiday Trading – it’s safe to say Georgia may just be the answer to all you make-up and beauty prayers.
CLIQUE Mag caught up with the talented artist to pick her brain and give you all the best make-up tips and tricks.
How did you get involved in make-up artistry?
I began playing with makeup in high school; I’d always be late to class due to winged eyeliner experiments. I was curious about makeup as a career, so I took a course – and the rest is history!
What are the top three products you cant live without?
For myself – Palmer’s lip butter, MAC 266 brush and Bobbi Brown shimmer bricks.
For my kit – Becca Opal pressed powder, Face Atelier Ultra Foundation and Modelrock Individual lashes.
The New Year always signifies a new wave of trends and looks for us to obsess over. What are you favourite beauty trends of 2017?
I’m hoping to see a lot of orange tones on eyes, beautiful skin and wild brows.
What are the biggest and most common beauty faux pas you come across?
People following Instagram trends blindly and not considering their own natural beauty and the quirks that make them special. Also, I’m REALLY over contouring.
They say the good skin acts as the canvas for a beautiful make-up look. What can people do to achieve a flawless completion?
Double-cleansing after a day of heavy makeup is important, also avoid alcohol in your skincare products. Cream masques are INCREDIBLE for overnight treatments, and never ‘scrub’ the face with exfoliants – only polish. The product will do the job for you.
What are some of your favourite projects you’ve worked on?
I’ve been lucky to love the work that I’ve received. My brides are some of the sweetest people I’ve met. My favourite campaign has been for Calèche – they’re an incredible bridal company in Adelaide. My favourite test shoot was with a team of Carolyn Do and Sharmonie Cockayne. We were shooting with Alice Fittock at Hahndorf Farm Barn and basically played with baby animals and a nosy horse all afternoon.
In your opinion, what celebrities always slay the make-up game?
I love the red-carpet looks from Natalie Portman, Kate Bosworth, and Jessica Chastain. Hung Vanngo is an incredible inspiration.
