As part of a marketing campaign in Hong Kong, KFC got together with creative firm Ogilvy & Mather and McCormick Foods to replicate two flavours of nail polish — Original Recipe, a light beige with brown sparkles, and Hot & Spicy, a bright red with deep maroon sparkles.
You’re probably asking “Is this safe?”. However, according to AdWeek, the nail polish flavours are infused with “natural ingredients” restaurants use in their chicken recipes.
“The recipe for our edible nail polish is unique and was specifically designed to hold the flavour, but to also dry with a glossy coat similar to normal nail polish,” says Ogilvy creative director John Koay. “This campaign is designed to be intriguing and fun to increase excitement around the KFC brand in Hong Kong.”
Now you have an excuse for biting your nails!
