WOMADelaide have just announced their third and final lineup release, after the debut announcement that The Specials, The Waifs and Philip Glass Ensemble will be headlining and the follow-up lineup featuring Emir Kusturica & the No Smoking Orchestra and Austrian electro-swing pioneers Parov Stelar late last year.
Joining the already extensive roster for WOMADelaide’s 25th anniversary is radical ensemble redefining the Tango, Orquesta Típica Fernández Fierro, the brand new side project of Grammy-winning improvisational jazz group Snarky Puppy, Bokanté and the Emmy Award-winning Toni Childs.
There’s also been the addition of homegrown Australian talent, including Montaigne (who CLIQUE Mag spoke to when she was in town last year), Darwin’s Caiti Baker and Adelaide-based performers Jesse Davidson, MANE, Aaron Thomas and Kelly Menhennett.
Today’s announcement brings the March 10–13 event to a total of 73 artists full of cultural diversity from our own backyard to places abroad such as Honduras, Mali, Israel, Iceland, France, Jamaica, Japan and more.
In the lead up to the March long weekend event, find some WOMADelaide style inspiration from last year’s street style snaps. Keep your eyes out for our photographer this year, too.
