Blossom Box Co. is Adelaide’s recent floral boutique to pop up on the scene. Think bright colours, chic and trendy arrangements, and lots and lots of flowers!
Blossom Box Co. are shaking things up a little as they sell eternal roses; roses from Ecuador which stay alive for a year with no water (say what!)
We caught up with creative director and florist Trinh Nguyen to talk about her business, the deal with eternal roses, and her plans to open up a space in months to come.
So tell us a little about yourself…
My name is Trinh and I’m a Vietnamese-born Australian. I’m actually a pharmacist by trade but my passion for flowers has always been there. My first ever job at the age of 15 was at a florist shop. I would work there during the busy periods of the year and it just came so naturally to me working with flowers. I loved being surrounded by flowers; it just made me happy. What girl doesn’t like flowers right?
When did you first start Blossom Box Co.?
I started Blossom Box Co last October as a hobby. I was posting up pictures of flowers I had arranged for family and friends onto my Instagram account. Then I started getting orders weekly… and now it’s just consistent every day. I’m so busy that I’ve had cut down to part time work at the pharmacy to run Blossom Box Co. I have to ensure that I’m keeping up with orders to keep my customers happy.
Where do you get your inspiration for each bouquet?
Every order since the beginning has been made by myself. I go to the markets every second day to hand select all the flowers I use for my bespoke arrangements. When an order is placed I get an idea of what they’re after and what the occasion is for. I actually picture what flowers and colours would be suitable for that order and create a bespoke piece. I’m a Virgo, so I believe I’m a bit of a perfectionist! I always like to make sure everything that is being sent out truly reflects on myself and my business.
And tell us about your eternal roses!
I first saw these eternal roses last year from one of my favourite florists in Dubai. I kept wondering how they could have roses that last a year. So I did some research myself and found that the roses come from Ecuador. It took me months to get these eternal roses in. They are now available on my website and come in the most amazing colours (e.g. black, lilac, baby blue, khaki) and what’s great about them is that they don’t require any water or maintenance. You get to have these beautiful roses that lasts a whole year. I thought that was pretty cool!

And what’s next for you now?
I’ve been overwhelmed by the support from all my lovely customers. I wouldn’t be opening up a shop if it weren’t for their continuous support of my little business. I’m so excited to have a space dedicated to my love for flowers and to be able to share that with everyone. It’s definitely a dream come true. I look forward to seeing everyone at my boutique store. Make sure to come visit me!
