Ellery is undoubtedly an Australian fashion icon. Famous for injecting the romantic yet extravagant bell-sleeve into our wardrobes and revitalising the 1970’s flare in a way so cool we were willing to ditch our skinnies in a heartbeat.
Season after season Ellery leaves the fashion conscious speechless through her intricate artistry, immaculate craftsmanship, soft tailoring and ingenious theatrics.
And the upcoming Resort ‘17 is certainly no exception.
This season Ellery fuses her famous minimalist silhouette with ‘70s charisma and subtle sex appeal. Billowing sleeves in variety’s of both ruffled and ruched are accompanied with plunging deep-V necklines and sheer mesh fabrics; leaving little to the imagination.
Yet long hemlines, structured draping and pheasant silhouettes beautifully balance the racy notes of the collection.
What’s more Resort 2017 diverges from the usual monochromatic comfort zone and into bolder hues of flamingo, blue, canary yellows and floral reds, while utility brown adds a masculine notion to the overall feminine collection.
It’s almost impossible to choose a favourite this season, as the collection itself is a fusion of vastly different styles and eras married beautifully with Ellery’s faultless elegance.
