Bringing the lively colours and flavours of Vietnamese street eats to the heart of Adelaide, Rundle Street welcomes a Saigon spin with its newest culinary offering, District 4. Inspired by Saigon’s smallest urban region, the restaurant’s namesake, District 4, is rich in culture, food and community.
A microcosm of the Vietnam’s District 4, the modern eatery brings Saigon flavours to Adelaide’s East End. Overlooking the bustling Rundle Street and Frome Street junction, the authentic Vietnamese restaurant opened last month and is already making waves in the Adelaide foodie scene.
Enjoy the taste of the Saigon that captured owners, Nhi Huynh and Jayden Nguyen’s, hearts with District 4’s mouth-watering menu offerings.
“During a holiday to Vietnam, District 4 caught out heart,” says Nhi and Jayden. “We fell in love with the kindness of its people, its vibrant market scene, the fresh flavours and the sumptuous seafood – we knew that we had to bring it all home to Adelaide”.
Swing by this Fringe season to chow down on an extensive range of pho, noodles and mains for dinner as seafood takes centre stage.
Take matters into your own hands with the wildly popular ‘Roll Your Own’ cold rolls. Complete with crispy roast pork, chargrilled squid, fragrant herbs, pickled vegetables, Vietnamese soup and house-made dipping sauce, the hands-on approach to dining is a must-eat.
Why not try District 4’s take on the classic Banh Mi, the perfect on the go lunch. Fresh Vietnamese meat rolls, stacked with all the trimmings, are available from the front of the restaurant from 10am – 3pm daily.
“We focus on what the real District 4 has to offer, especially the variety of seafood and simple yet flavoursome ingredients,” says District 4’s head chef, Co Van.
