Cream contouring is the next big thing in the beauty world and you’ll want to jump on this bandwagon pretty quickly. Although most of us non-beauty gurus have only just got the hang of powder contouring, the world’s best makeup artists have perfected this art with creams too. It sounds tricky but don’t fret, we’ve road tested this celebrity makeup trend and have created a cream contouring crash course just for you.
Step 1: Prime your face – try the Make Up For Ever UV Prime ($49 from Media Makeup Store).
Step 2: Apply your foundation – try to go as sheer as possible.
Step 3: Apply the highlight shade under eyes in an upside-down triangle shape, under the brow bone, along the tops of the cheek bones, and just below the centre of the forehead and down the nose.
Step 4: Apply the highlight shade above your Cupid’s bow and just below your lower lip.
Step 5: Apply the contour shade along the jawline, about two thirds of the way across the face.
Step 6: Blend the contour shade slowly with feathered strokes so you don’t blend the colour completely out.
Step 7: Apply the contour shade under the cheekbones about two thirds of the way across your face.
Step 8: Set your contouring with a pressed powder or setting spray. Try MAC Prep+Prime Fix+ ($27 from David Jones).
Step 9: Add blush and highlighter to further enforce your celebrity glow. Try NARS Highlighting Blush in Albatross ($47 from Mecca).
