CheeseFest is back with Ferment for 2018

Australia’s original CheeseFest is back and merging with Ferment the Festival for a complete weekend of live music, demonstrations and all things cheese, beer and wine. For the first time, CheeseFest+Ferment is introducing the French Quarter, which will serve French cheeses, charcuterie, and French champagne.

This year, the two-day event will bring us special guest and ‘Master of Formage’, Matt Preston as well as chef Simon Bryant. MasterChef alumni, Jessie Spiby and Callum Hann will be demonstrating everything from gourmet cheese toasties to lentils and Jessie’s specialty: Kimchi. All cooking demonstrations are free to the public and will be followed by a book signing. The demo stage will also house some Adelaide locals; chef Karena Armstrong from the Salopian INN and Level One Electra House’s new chef, Josh Kim.

Local Adelaide restaurants and food producers will be serving up delicious treats including, Lost Loaf, The Kings Head and Hereford Beefstouw. There will also be a selection cheese-y dishes including cheese toasties with kimchi, Raclette and Quattro Formaggio (Four Cheese) Pizza. Advertiser Food Editor Simon Wilkinson and Anna Perejma from The Cheese Riot will be hosting cheese trivia across the weekend with yummy prizes for the winners.

RAA has introduced a ‘Speed Tasting’. A 20-minute session matching cheese with gin, beer or wine all from South Australian producers, you will also have the opportunity to meet the maker in an intimate setting and still have plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the festival. Tickets to this are $20, in addition to the admission ticket.

After stuffing yourself with incredible cheese and bread, there will be a variety of beverage stalls to quench your thirst, including the Adelaide MINI Garage Aperol Spritz Bar, 23rd Street Distillery, a G+T Bar, a huge selection of SA Brewers with beers on tap and wines from the Basket Range in the Adelaide Hills.

With live music right across the weekend, and all the cheese and wine anyone could ask for, what’s stopping you from enjoying the perfect weekend?

CheeseFest+FERMENT will be celebrating I Choose SA Day on Saturday 27th, with I Choose SA Cheese Toasties made from delicious SA ingredients.
