Adelaide’s treasured design market, Bowerbird, is back for another year and is bringing its characteristic biannual charm with a new twist. Now upgraded to the Wayville Pavilion at the Showgrounds, the market has announced two new initiatives to the three day program, these being Insitu and the Inaugural Mother’s Day High Tea with el limón.
Insitu, created by the events team of design experts, debuts on May 6 and runs throughout the entire weekend encompassing a series of six themed spaces with each showcasing different homewares, furniture, lighting and artwork which are all available from the designers showcasing at Bowerbird. Market goers are encouraged to explore Insitu spaces to view the variety of styles and aesthetics created by the design team, with all items tagged with information to make for an easy identification of the creators behind. The Insitu at Bowerbird runs, 2pm to 9pm Friday May 6, 10am to 5pm Saturday as well as on Sunday May 7 and Monday May 8.
To make those Mother’s Day plans that little bit easier, the introduction of a Mother’s Day High Tea will also be running on the Sunday of the market. The exclusive event is a collaboration of the market with Adelaide High Tea experts, el limón, who will be creating delicious sweet and savoury delights, drinks and teas all to be served on decorated tables adorned by fresh blooms, candles and crockery. Places are limited and bookings are recommended. For $75 per person the high tea includes admission to Bowerbird and two-hours of Mother’s Day High Tea from 2pm to 4pm.
Bowerbird runs from May 6–8 with over 150 of Australia’s freshest independent designers presenting their creations. Entry is $5 for adults, and free for children 12 and under. For more info, visit their website here.
