South Australia’s own Australian Fashion Labels have announced they will be closing its Adelaide Flagship store, BNKR Rundle Mall.
The closure results in 15 jobs lost and the effected employees will not be offered other positions inside the business. BNKR opened in 2014 at the Pulteney Street end of Rundle Mall and has been a favourite of consumers searching for cocktail, formal and casual attire.
Australian Fashion Labels co-founder, Dean Flintoft, said to The Advertiser that “changing consumer behaviour and increased costs [resulted in the store being] no longer viable. “We are changing our business model and doing a bit of a review, the bank is helping us with that and working with us,” he added. The company had been liaising with its bank, Bendigo Bank, which Flintoft said had been “fantastic.”
The BNKR Outlet store at Harbour Town Adelaide will remain open while BNKR Rundle Mall is set to close at the end of the month. An additional Los Angeles BNKR Store will also close.
