If you haven’t heard of beauty subscription boxes, you probably haven’t checked your Instagram feed in the last year because these cute boxes of fun-sized goodies have taken the beauty world by storm. These monthly deliveries are filled with five or more makeup, skincare or haircare products, all for less than the price of your weekly coffees.
Unfortunately, with so many brands to choose from, choosing the right subscription box for your needs can be a daunting task. Luckily, here at CLIQUE Mag, we’ve road tested some of the most popular boxes to give you the low-down.
Bellabox – $17.95
For $17.95 per month, you’ll receive a little blue box every month with 5+ products, including one full-sized item. With brands such as Benefit, KORA Organics, St Tropez, John Frieda and NYX, this subscription box caters for all kinds of beauty junkies. Unlike many brands who apply a ‘one-size fits all’ mentality, the Bellabox personalises your samples for your own skin, hair and makeup preferences.
Pros: Affordable, some great brands, cute packaging, good value for money.
Cons: Some lower-quality brands or samples you can get for free from your local Myer or Mecca Cosmetica.
Lust Have It – $19.95
The Lust Have It box includes 5–6 premium samples from brands such as AVEDA, Molton Brown and Model Co, all delivered to your door in a collectible box every month. With $60+ in value each month, the Lust Have It box is the perfect way to curb your makeup spending without FOMO.
Pros: Premium brands, nice packaging.
Cons: High price-point.
Her Fashion Box – $39.95
For $39.95, Her Fashion Box sends you 2–3 fashion accessories, three full-sized beauty products and a copy of the Her Fashion magazine each month. With three options to suit your own personal style, the Her Fashion Box is the perfect way to keep your wardrobe on-trend without investing thousands of dollars.
Pros: You receive 5–6 products each month, including full-sized beauty products.
Cons: Her Fashion Box is more expensive than most subscription boxes, this box doesn’t have great value for money as it doesn’t include actual clothing pieces.
Vegan Cuts Beauty Box – $22.95 (plus $15 shipping)
This beauty box is primarily aimed at vegan beauty lovers, however, it’s perfect for anyone who aims to support cruelty-free cosmetics brands. With 4–7 vegan beauty products, this box provides cruelty-free cosmetics to your door. With mostly organic and 100% paraben free products, you’ll be kind to the environment, animals and your skin with this box. Unlike many other boxes with only one full-sized product per month, the Vegan Cuts Beauty Box has a mix of full-sized and sample products, which is an added bonus in the ‘value-for-money’ category.
Pros: Vegan, cruelty free, organic, paraben-free.
Cons: High-price point, ships from the US (which means expensive shipping costs, unfortunately).
