Beauty Cue: Chanel Métiers d’Art

When it comes to haute couture there is no question that Chanel is the undisputed global authority.  Yesterday, heads across the world turned in unison when the French powerhouse staged its Métiers d’Art show at the newly renovated Paris Ritz. Models, including Cara Delevingne and Lily-Rose Depp, sashayed through a dining room style runway that brought guests up close and personal with the best of pre-Fall 2017. And while the fashion showcased chic boots and tweed suits from the in-between season that we won’t be wearing for some time, the surprise beauty look can be plucked straight from the Parisian runway and translated into a statement go-to that’s perfect for our hot Australian summer.

Think skin that is crystal clear and velvet smooth. Cheekbones, chiselled with just a hint of bronzer drawn out to the hairline. Eyes that sparkle from beneath a simple white rim of shadow, painted carefully across the lashes. And peach-coloured lips that pop to balance out a handsome brow. Crowned with a headpiece of colourful silk flowers, the look is ethereal beach beauty meets smart sophisticate.
