Pop-up bar, Archie’s Clubhouse, is about to take over the notorious River Torrens pontoon for the ultimate summer party destination. But shhh… don’t tell his parents – Archie’s out to play and ready to party.
Super California general manager Harrison Raphael and aspiring entrepreneur Danny Cooray have joined forces to reactivate the pontoon for some late night party-time that will run in the early summer months. The idea for the clubhouse was inspired by the narrative of a boy named Archie, whose parents have left him all alone for the summer. So what does he do? He turns his house (pontoon) into a party clubhouse.
“It’s an event that will have visitors enjoying the beautiful balmy Adelaide nights, whilst enjoying Adelaide’s scenic illuminated skyline, all on the heart of the River Torrens,” Danny says.
Royal Croquet Club’s Neon Forest designers, Dave Court and David Musch have sunk their claws into the design front and we’ve been told to expect big things.
“We are currently in the process of building the house onto the Pontoon,” Danny says. “There will be bedrooms, [a] living room, an interactive hallway, and a secret bathroom. As well as this, the dance floor area will be set up as a backyard, complete with a DJ booth cubby house built by Musch that comes with a smoke machine chimney and shoots out lasers.”
Archie’s gone all out for the people of Adelaide with Peter Rabbit’s coffee van shaking your Espresso Martinis, beer by Mismatch, vino by Alpha Box & Dice and Asian-inspired cuisine by Gang Gang.
Get ready to kickstart summer with the ultimate party destination before Archie’s parents return home.
