Adelaide’s Best Acai Bowls

Acai Bowl

Acai (ah-sigh-ee) is an Amazonian berry loaded with antioxidants, which also happens to form the basis of some of our city’s best smoothie bowls. Contrary to popular belief, acai isn’t just for health junkies, so we’ve scouted out the cream of the crop… making sure these bowls are just as tasty as they are nutritious!

It’s no secret Argo is a go-to destination for the health-conscious, with a selection of soul-cleansing meals, green juices and smoothies that tick all the boxes… and we mean all. But check out the superfood section of their menu, and nourish yourself with one of their heart-shaped smoothie bowls. We’re all about the Viva Brazilia, a blend of acai, bananas, raw cacao and coconut water, topped with housemade buckwheat granola, goji berries and kiwi fruit. / 212 The Parade, Norwood

Glenelg’s hidden gem, Raw is tucked down a side street off of the bustling Jetty Rd serving up nourishing treats that are all vegan and free from gluten, dairy and refined sugar. Yes, this includes acai bowls and a wider selection of smoothie bowls where they can guarentee it’s 100% natural with no no premade frozen acai packs or processing. If you head in on a Thursday night after 6pm, they’re doing an special with 20% off all smoothie bowls and burgers. / 2/2 Chapel St, Glenelg

Just off Glenelg’s Moseley Square is one of Adelaide’s only dedicated acai bars, serving up the ever-popular berry imported from the heart of the Amazon. The team at Bomdia Bowls pride themselves on a product that is fresh as hell, and we’re not complaining! All of their bowls are topped with grain free activated granola, sliced banana, strawberry, desiccated coconut, and a squeeze of honey or coconut nectar. Our pick is the BomBerry, acai infused with a variety of berries, and topped with all the good stuff! / 2b Moseley St, Glenelg

Delicia Acai + Protein Bar Victor Harbor

If you’re making a trip to Victor Harbor beach, opt for a healthy meal at Delicia Acai + Protein Bar. They offer endless choices of toppings for your refreshing acai bowls – we can’t wait to try the Kiwi, Pomegranate and Berries combination. You can also find protein shakes and treats on their menu, too. If you’re not heading that down south, they also have a Christies Beach location and have hinted to a future Blackwood store. / 3-5 Coral Street, Victor Harbor, South Australia

The guys behind The Plantation Juice Co. have taken the best of the beach bars in Mykonos and dropped it in the Adelaide Central Market… but this is far from your average juice bar. With a whole heap of juices and smoothies to choose from, you’ll never have to sacrifice taste for nutrition. It’s a win-win, right? Not to mention you can turn any of their smoothies into a nourish bowl topped with fresh fruit and buckinis. In the spirit of things, go for the Acai with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and banana. / Stall R17–18 Adelaide Central Market
