Adelaide Fashion Festival Goes To Asia

Three Adelaide Fashion Festival designers have touched down in South East Asia to showcase their designs at a gala event for top Indonesian investors, fashion buyers and influential business identities today.

Julia Ritorto of Acler, Kate Anderson of SIG The Label and Paige Rowe will be exposing their labels to the Asian market before travelling to Vietnam to tour manufacturing and textile facilities.

Additional pieces from other Adelaide labels Naomi Murrell, Casper+Pearl, Pari and Tiff Manuell will also be on the runway.

Adelaide Fashion Festival creative director Chris Kontos says the international exposure and networking will be invaluable to the designers.

“These designers are among Adelaide’s new frontier of fashion and are motivated, inspired businesswomen who are building their labels independently,” he says.

Kate of SIG The Label manufactures her collections in Indonesia, but this is her first trip to Jakarta.

“I’m really excited to visit Jakarta – it has a thriving economy and exciting prospects,” Kate says. “Exploring the retail side (of Indonesia and Vietnam) will be really beneficial to my business and its growth in the long run.”

Keep your eye out for these designers in the upcoming Adelaide Fashion Festival – October 19–23.
