After last week’s announcement of what’s happening at this year’s Adelaide Cup at Morphettville Racecourse, they’ve gone and stepped it up a notch by giving The Starting Gate precinct a full makeover.
The pop-up precinct, that sold out in 2016, has opened up to general admission as it becomes a hub for foodies, music lovers, racing enthusiasts and fashionistas.
You’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to finding a bite to eat. McLaren Vale’s Pizzateca will be bringing down their wood oven to cook up their gourmet Italian pizzas alongside other food trucks Daisy Burger, Sooki Lala and Feisty Filomena.
You can wash down your lunch with an espresso martini out of the People vs Coffee caravan or from the Mr Mixer premium cocktail bar.
And for the first time ever, the iconic Yellowglen Terrace will open to all race-goers – we recommend to securing your spot up on the terrace early for ideal racecourse and people watching views.
Speaking of people watching, the Myer Fashions on the Field will be making its way front and centre inside The Starting Gate where you can watch who will represent SA in the finals at Melbourne Cup. Or maybe you’ll opt to join in?
After a long afternoon trackside, unfortuntely your hair and makeup doesn’t always stay on fleek. That’s where we come in! For the second year in a row, we’re bringing back the Clique Beauty Bar with Clip Joint Salons on the brushes using evo products and Media Makeup with their Make Up For Ever touch-up kit in tow. To offer something for everyone we’ve also introduced grooming services for the gentlemen.
The party doesn’t stop once the racing finishes, ARIA nominated Miami Horror and Triple J’s KLP will be playing DJ sets for the after-race concert. What a drawcard?!
With so many events happening over Mad March, we can’t think of any better way to wrap up our March long weekend.
