As the warmer weather kicks in, what better way to celebrate than with some good quality seafood? This Friday and Saturday the Adelaide Central Market is holding their Seafood + Sounds event, showcasing the best in South Australian seafood and music.
The selection of seafood on offer is endless, with pan seared scallops and truffled baby pea puree with wild mushroom brown butter from Lucia’s, seafood vol-au-vent from Les Deux Coqs, ceviche peruano from Cumbia and seafood paella from Comida.
“South Australia has a reputation for producing quality seafood from some of the cleanest waters on the planet, and we’re able to put it in the hands of consumers via our fishmongers, Cappo’s Fish Market and Samtass Seafood,” Adelaide Central Market Authority Interim General Manager, Paul Thorne says.
Packed with free cooking demonstrations from culinary extraordinaires, such as ex-Masterchef alum Kristen Sheffield and local foodie Fiona Roberts, the event will also see the team from Sprout showcase local favourites such as the SA Spencer Gulf Prawns, Goolwa Pipi Co and Myers Seafood.
Be entertained with the sweet sounds of local musicians, delivering a mix of blues, jazz, and live performances by Brian Ruiz, Banjo Jackson, Bonfire Blues and Bird Lives. To top it off, grab a drink from The Dive Bar, which will be pouring local sparkling wine and craft beer; sip on freshly made sangria from Cumbia’s pop-up bar; or visit the Kangaroo Island stall, where you may be treated to their signature gin cocktail.
